I have an established 135g tank with a Female 9" Midas, a 8" Mayan cichlid, and 6 2-3" pink convicts. I'm curious to see what would be the best logical fish to add to tank.

here are the choices

A) A 5" juvenile Blackbelt Cichlid. Which at the store was pretty aggressive and biting at my finger. The BB has been eating well per the sales person at the store.

or

B) A 9" Male Festae which is slightly larger than the RD but appears to be more timid. And from the the sales person said is kind of a picky eater.

The plot thickens

I know it would have made more sense to post prior to purchasing but I chose option B because frankly the Festae was a better looking fish. The current status in the tank is 2 sessions of lip locking, the Festae appears to have won the lip locking contest. no damage at this point. To help with allowing new fish a good chance I took out the Mayan and the RD and let the Festae have the tank to himself for a while.

I'm just scared that these fish wont stop the fighting and I'll end up killing a pretty fish.

Even though I'm more a fan of the Festae, I think the black belt will fare better with the current established inhabitants because of the smaller size. The larger Festae will be considered a threat and there will be a lot of fighting.

i love my black belts, but i warn you, if you have any other Vieja or plan on getting more Vieja they will kill it...
