I have a 30gal on my dresser, was wondering if you guys would think i can handle a 55gal on the same dresser

It really depends on how the dresser is constructed internally. Is there a frame on either end and in the middle or are the sides and top just joined together with each other?

A quick look at what you posted and I would say no.

No one hear can answer this question as we are not there to inspect it ourselves nor do we have the job that would allow us to make a good educated guess about the safety of it, mfk is not responsible if you take a members advice and the dresser ends up failing.

With that said, the bottom left of it, where the side is peeling off, is that particle board? I think it *may* be strong enough to hold it without giving out over the years however if that is indeed particle board then you are screwed if it gets wet. If it is indeed particle board then I would just put a layer of this stuff down all over the dresser.

I was just looking for opinions , if anyone had used a similar looking dresser or not thats all, im or gunna point fingers at someone if they say they think its ok and it breaks.

For all we know that dresser could be extremely well made with a thick solid frame behind that outer shell. But we don't know that so.......

When it comes to heavy aquariums, and let's face it even small ones are heavy, I'd only place them on something that was designed to hold a lot of weight in the first place, and going off the picture alone we can't tell whether your dresser falls into that category or not.

It might last for a while but trusting it long term is another thing. Play it safe imo.

Ya i realized this was a stupid post. Im just goinf to get a corner tank, and a smaller dresser

Put 600 pounds on top of the dresser. If it holds with no bowing or sagging I would feel comfortable putting a 55 on it.

Instead of that, you could build a “shell” to go around the dresser that is strong enough to hold up the the tank and for the dresser underneath.
