I have a total of 16 Africans in my 55 gal tank all of my cobalt blues are holding. I have 5 cobalt blue four snow white scofolis 3 marble cichlids 2 dragons blood and one unidentified female. Anyway 2 of the cobalts are on day 17 should I strip them or just let them be and see how many survive? Honest question

Yeah I have four females one male the cobalt male is the only one old enough to breed my other tank mates are all juvies
Also the only one that I've watched when the females have laid eggs then they are right on him to get fertilized
Well...if you let them be and see how many survive, then you're not guaranteed any...but that might be the best thing because your 55g is already stocked pretty good as it is
My buddy owns the local Lfs and wants to by the fry I have a 26 gal rearing tank a 75 gal community tank but never stripped one before and really need some input
Oh, then it seems you already made a decision. You could put her in the 26g and wait for her to spit them out and then seperate the mother from the fry; this would be the least stressful method of stripping the female of her fry IMO

Not sure only bought them four weeks ago I know the eggs have hatched you can see the fry in their mouths
