My pickerel only eats feeders and i don't have the time to breed my own so i just buy them from petsmart. I know everyone says they have parasites and after my big problem with parasites in the last month i was wondering if i could treat the feeders with Parasite clear tank buddies made by jungle inside a bucket before putting them in my tank. I dont currently have a free tank to quarantine them so is a bucket ok? and if so how long should they be in there with the parasite clear?

What else did you try feeding your pickerel with?

Ive tried tillapia and blood worms. I was told by a member on here that said they have been keeping pickerel and pike for a long time and that they usually only eat live food.

Did your pickerel bother with tilapia and bloodworms?

I don't personally recommend anyone to feed their fish feeders due to potential risks of transmissions. It should be noted several parasites that harbor the feeders are NOT curable without proper meds that are often elusive.

If your fish prefers live foods, try safer options instead of putting it to risks. Does it take frozen foods at all? How about mixing the foods with bloodworm or garlic juice?

i dont want to hijack but are the same risks there using minnows that are intended for fishing?
There is no guarantee they're completely parasite-free. Every feeder fish you give your pets can still introduce bad bacteria and parasites.

Ill have to find somthing differnt to feed him. He didn't like the tillapia or blood wroms and that's fine if he doesn't like feeders I hate buying them anyway
