My Dats have only been on ghost shrip (live) i'm now tring to get them on pellets. They ignor them (the smallest looks a little interested). I have tried frozen blood worms as a first step but they ignor them as well.
The question, if i just keep giving them the pellets will they just start to eat them or will they starve to death because they don't know what they are?
I'm willing to go as long as it takes with all my fish this time, including my RTG because i want them all on pellets.

Not many fish will starve themselves to death, some of my fish have taken 2 weeks to eat pelletts, i just starved them eventually they saw the light and ate. Fish can last for weeks without food without any problems.

They will see soon that this is there new food and they will eat it. And yeh Kewskills is right they can evan go months without food! :D

CC... The time it takes to convert can vary, fish to fish... Tank to tank....

My thinbar just converted was a tough one.

But last night. My 12 inch indo started scooping pellets for the first time. I thought he would take the longest due to size.... 2 weeks.

Starved for 1 week. Then he got really aggressive n started attacking stuff, so I caved in , worried about the other fish taking damage. I fed a load of muscle which calmed him down. Starved for 1 more week, then last night.... Gulping h. Carnivore.

If tiger has been on live only, then it should take longer than 2,3 weeks. unless ur lucky.

My big IT took about 3 weeks ,and the little NTTs about a week and a half, ive had my little IT for a week and hes mouthed a few pellets but not eaten any as far as i can tell but i dont think it will take long,as for my RTG then, well it took months and months to get him to eat the hikari floating type but he will eat other stuff as well now that he wouldnt touch before i starved him,im now trying to persuade him to eat cheaper pellets with no success so far, make sure to try and get yours to eat a pellet that is either cheap or you can buy in bulk,i made a mistake with mine.
Good luck.

Steve

Nicely done spwd :-)

it helps if u buy a couple of kg of pellets. Cause those tiny little bags won't last more 3 days for me. U don't want to run out of pellets when the fish is at conversion point...
