Can Flagtails (Prochilodus) Live is a 300 gallon planted tank?8'30''24'' Knowing he will eat plants.
the tank isnt up yet and hes only 6'' long but ive read some people can get lucky with them in planted tanks. Is that true?
Really would like to put him in the 300 if thats the case.

Was thinking about getting him on nori sheets in my mind maybe he will hopefully thinks that's a better food source?! (salty!!!) so plants wont be on his mind as much??

I absolutely agree, you can only learn from asking questions. There may be others out there that are afraid to ask the same question. You are the smart one for doing so.

I myself have had questions that I have feared to ask. This group of “Fish family” have been amazing and allowed me to open up and ask the questions I have since feared to ask.

The only way to learn is to ask.

Flagtails can absoutely be had in planted tanks, so long as the plants are planted in manners the flagtail is less likely to unplant while browsing. And they do love to browse the surface of leaves, of sand, of everything!, with relatively little damage in my experience.
My Prochi is close to 10 inches, and I have had in several planted tanks.

I have used Pool Filter Sand and love it. There are several brands around, I like HTH sold at ACE hardware stores but there are there.
Cories, prochi and other bottom sifters love it.
Even though at first it is a little too light colored, a couple of months later it looks quite natural.
