So I've taken my 125 down, redone the stand to allow my fx5 to fit, cleaned the tank out completely, and installed the fx5 back to the tank and its ready to go.
The only thing is...I switched the substrate out, and now the water is extremely cloudy. I can see maybe 5 inches into it with the light on. Tests all came back good and its, chemically, fine to put my fish back in (they're in a 35g rubbermaid tub with my old filter attached), but I was wondering if the little particles in the water would do any damage to the fish?

Btw, I switched the substrate to play sand which I did rinse out thoroughly before, but as expected, I didn't get every little bit out. :/

i normally do a 50% WC to take away most of the cloud. after that its fine. honestly, its safe right now as is, but im sure the particals arent good for their gills. ive done it in worse conditions than yours and been completely successful though

:/ Alright...
Can I get other opinions please?

Not meaning any disrespect.
Just want to get some other opinions before I do this.

i had the same issue, a 50% water change will help and try not to stir the water up when refilling. think of river water how brown or dirty it can be after rain. fish can cope fine with it

Thats actually exactly what my dad said just now xD

When I turn my fx5 on though, that will stir it all up...Wont it?

I've put sand in my tanks plenty of times and quit a few times got as cloudy as yours. You fish will be fine, they do sell a chemical that you can add that will speed up the process and clump the particles up to clear the water faster. I've used this before and it works good. Either way the fish will be fine. Should look a lot better in the morning.

The fish will be fine i did the same thing on my 55 gallon with my convicts and they are happier than ever :D, Only thing i did was wrap the head of my ac 110 in poly cloth and then changed it the next day and it's been crystal clear ever since.

Alright....So it shouldn't mess my fx5 up if I just leave it as it is?
