im getting an 8L by 2w by 2.5 high in a week and i was looking over the tank and the overflow boxes are bout 5 inches out and theres two of them both at 2 feet into the sides of the tank there glass. Im wondering if my fish will mayb get stuck since it makes the actual inside of the tank much smaller. im gonna have a few oscars, an aro, a ray, a few dempseys, a few pbass's and a few clown loaches. Im looking into a larger tank for the next year or two to house all of these but im getting them all very small from my LFS just wondering if this is going to be a problem having the overflow boxes.

I wouldnt think the fish would get stuck, but some pics might help determin how dangerus the tank might be for lil baby fish.

if im reading it right and your worried about them getting into a corner.
i wouldnt think they so because they can move vertically, also alot of smarter fish can move backwards
