Today I was helping my friend out at the pet store he works at and noticed that they had gotten several 1 to 1.5 inch EBJDs in. I've been wanting one for quite some time and now I've found some for only $15 (I don't know if that is a good price but it doesn't seem bad). Anyway, my question is this. Is there any way to tell the quality of them at this size? Like I said before, I'd really like to be the proud owner of one but I don't want to end up with a deformed fish.

Yeah mine is a little funny looking from the front. It's the beack nose you need to look out for. Mine is in no way breeding quality but I love him he has great color only a small beack face nothing too bad.

$15 is a good price for sure. Mine was $20 at 1.5".

Here is mine before and now.

Thanks. The ones I were looking at seemed to have a real deep body compared to my regular JD when he was that size. I didn't know if that is a good thing, bad thing, or doesn't really matter. I was also wondering if you can tell if they will have a beak at that small.

Sorry about posting 2 times. Can someone fix that for me??

Yes at a young age some can show the beak if they have a beak at 2" might no want to get it because that will just get worst.

I have seen some EBJD with a Deep body it looks funny to me but does not mean it is a sick or bad fish.
