Quick question on fluval filters.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No more than 40 gallons. I do not like Fluval at all, just not made very well.

I have been using a fluval 304 on a tank for a long time and have had no problems. you can use it up to 60-80 gallons

I wouldn't pay $20 for a brand new Fluval 404, let alone a 304. They are not quality built filters, and often have issues leaking, or losing flow.

I had Fluvals 20 yrs ago they worked ok, the design is much better in these new ones , just be careful when opening them up to replace media, it is hard to pull apart and you dont want to damage the casing at the seal . By the way I love my 404.

I've got a 303, 304, and 404 in operation presently. Never had any problems with any of them. The 303 has been in operation for around 15 years and hasn't had any parts replaced yet....

Burt:)
