quick question regarding algae

question: my tank is currently developing some algae on the driftwood. is it ok to have them?

IMO, no. Welcome to MFK. What's your stock? A lot of fish eat algae.

5 oscars leaving on the tank where the algae is developing. and some pangasius

im cycling up my new tank for my jardini ^^ hope it cycles soon

I pull my driftwood out and scrub it with a scrub brush with my weekly maintenance.

I let mine build up, the plecos LOVE it. I also like the way it looks but that just me.

What size is the tank that the five oscars are in? Also, have you checked your water?

Unless algal growth is rampant, there is no reason to remove it. It is part of the ecosystem.
