quick question regarding algae

OT: sorry mods i dont know where to post this question. forgive me for my ignorance

question: my tank is currently developing some algae on the driftwood. is it ok to have them? :confused:
 
thanks, oh im still new to this hobby i only got a few ones

5 oscars leaving on the tank where the algae is developing. and some pangasius

im cycling up my new tank for my jardini ^^ hope it cycles soon
 
I let mine build up, the plecos LOVE it. I also like the way it looks but that just me.

What size is the tank that the five oscars are in? Also, have you checked your water?
 
Unless algal growth is rampant, there is no reason to remove it. It is part of the ecosystem.:)
