Quick Question (URGENT)

I got a quick question, need a quick answer, to help me decide if I should buy it or not

I have a 125G tank 5ft x 1.5ft x 18" or so (I forgot)

and

I got an offer of a NICE Argentina black and white tegu, approx 24" long (sub adult)

How long does it take for that thing to grow to 4ft???

Its in a 40G atm, should I buy it and keep it in the 125G for a few years?

I really like it and I really want to own it but 4ft of running muscles (need some input) I am hesistating (the current owner is about an hour drive from my house) need some quick opinion to help me to decide (if I do get it, its tonight)
 
Your defeating the purpose of an impulse buy...just get it. when the going gets tough, the tough get going... As it grows and you build the relationship. you will build whatever it needs to be healthy and comfotable...
 
Would you be able to build him something bigger relatively soon? I don't think he'll last a couple years in a 125

Thats the concern..

I am not sure if I get build a large enclosure in the near future 8'x4'x2' like armorq said in the other post (I dont have much money to spare)

This lizard is amazingly cheap.. the deal is AWESOME.. but I just dont know if I can handle it.. Honestly I REALLY like it.. I can take care of it, but I am not sure if I can afford a BIGGER home than the 125G .... >.<;;; (bank account saving drop back to 4 digits) ><;;;

Yeah and you can build a custom later down the road ;)
 
If you are unsure do not get it. You are looking at a lot of money and time to put into a custom cage. Aquariums are also horrible at maintaing proper heat and humidity. Aquariums=Fish not giant reptiles. This tegu is pretty much to big for a 125 gal aquarium. Doesn't even look like he would be able to turn around.

Just my opinion.
 
i wouldnt rush it
i would think about it before u do something u regret
u WILL need to make a bigger enclosure for it within mabey a year 2 if ur lucky
or else he will be in a cramped enclosure
can u care for it properly?
not be sound like a jerk but it realy dosent sound like it
if ur running low on money dont get another mouth to feed.
