quick question

If I need to heat up my 12 gallon qt tank., would a tetra heater that was meant for a 400L be too strong for this?If i wanted to heat the tank to 26 deg celcius?I mean if not will have to buy a heater today.

So since none of u guys decided to reply soon, i went my lfs and bought a aquael heater and a tetra tec 50-100L pump. I have just put the pump into my 400L tank in my bedroom, and letting it run in there. my question is, how long must i run this pump in my tank before i can put it into my qt tank and put my gold nugget in there? Already put the black sand etc. thing is my angels keep on harassing my gold nugget so im moving him for a while until he gets nice and fat. when i first got him he had a really badly sunken belly, and he has just started to eat and swim around a bit - , so i just need to make sure he doesn't get too stressed by them.

ok, so i have the new pump running in my tank, how long do i have to wait for until its ready to transfer to my qt tank?Also, is transferring it and filling up the qt tank with water from the other tank a good idea?
