I have a question;

my boss gave me a QuickSand Fluidized Bed Biofilter, it's just a tube with some water, sand, and a couple of hoses coming off the end. It has a hook to hook over the edge of the tank too.

It's about 1 foot and a half, MAYBE 2 ft long. (I'd measure, take pics and all that but I have 5 min till I HAVE to leave for work)...

Wondering if anyone has used one of these, or can give me any info on how much it's good for (how many gallons? depend on? how it works? if I get a pump how do I tell where to hook it up)

I used google, but on limited time I actually had trouble finding what I needed so thought I'd probe the minds of you here :)

Thanks in advance... Prolly check it from my phone at work!

Maybe i can help you a lil bit, I've had one since 1995 when they were first introduced. If i remember correctly they are rated for up to 125 gal. aquarium. It can be set up many different ways. You can use a small power head to run it. I currently have mine connected to the output of a Fluval 205. I reccomend using some kind flow control valve because if the flow is to high you will blow out the sand and it can not be refilled since it is a sealed unit.
