Quick snail question

If a snail has a cracked shell, but is still alive, will the shell heal and be alright? Or if not, will it affect the snail?

depends how bad the crack is. minor cracks will heal. cracks near the opening of the shell will lead to deformities.
here is one of mine with a crack that healed.

If it's near the opening of the shell, will it impair the snail any? Or will he be alright just having a messed up shell?

If its at the growing edge of the shell leave it alone.I have read of people using crazy glue and a piece of eggshell to repair holes or splits in the shell that are further up on the shell
