Just had an extra hour so stopped at the Amazon Exhibit at the Como Zoo. Alot of pictures didnt turn out well because the reflections off the glass. I have a bunch of flowers that turned out well, but flowers arent anything as exciting as monster fish.

sweet shots! that's an awesome set up they have.

Thanks! Yeah, the aro tank actually had a couple cichlid species along with a large leo ray that was hiding. It also had a nice size school of some kind of silver dollars or red hooks or something. And there were probably about 7-8 of those large black pacus, idk maybe 18" long or more?

^ Agreed. Especially the 2nd last pix. So damn suh-weet!

Yeah its really cool, i think that part actually might help with their bio filtration system/ That pic as actually of the other side of the tank with all the niger cats and leoprinus. That tank was probably my favorite, it has around 5 of those large nigers, a bunch of leoprinus, a couple flagtails, a motoro stingray, and my favorite part was that in with all those big fish were angel fish breeding on overhanging branches that dipped in the water. ANother cool thing was that when the motoro climbed the rock wall, the leoprinus all huddled around it, maybe cuz it scares out some bugs or shrimp, idk?

I'm orginally from MN and the Como Zoo is wonderful! Especially when it's free!

I agree, you can never beat FREE! Its always nice to donate the recommended $2 for adults though and $1 for kids if you have the funds, because feeding these fish does cost money. I am from Como Park and love this area!

FREE? lucky for you guys... I will probably be there at least once a week! but then thats coming from a guy that doesn't really have any public aquarium around his area.

Thanx for sharing - love to see the public aquarium pictures
