The Moon
Ok, I have a 28 gal planted tank with one bag, 20 pounds I think, of Seachem's flourite. I feel that the substrate is too thin and I have an extra 20 pound bag of "Tihitan moon sand", so I was wondering if it would be better to just buy another bag of flourite (tight budget tho) or should I mix the existing flourite and the new sand, or should I layer them? Mainly, what would be best for the plants (and looks) from this situation.

Oh yea, heres a pic of it currently. Getting some new plants soon, pending a trip to that fish place.

Oh, and the microsword is just planted there to stay alive, it will be moved when I get this problem straightened out.

I wouldn't mix them. That doesn't look like fourite, it looks like gravel.

I would not use tahitian moon sand. Although it does look good, if you layer that on top of the flourite, it will trap toxic gases below the sand. This can be very detrimental to both your plants and fish.

Gotcha. I will take heed from the plant masta known as WyldFya. lol looks like im gonna be spendin the cash for another bag of flourite, prob sell the sand to some one. Thanks for the help!
