Considering a craigslist tank and looking at the pics I immediately noticed there was no top trim or brace (tank is 80 gallons glass). How can you tell the difference between a "rimless" tank and a tank missing a top trim/brace?

I wouldn't fill it with water. I think it was setup for reptiles or frogs. It looks like it should have a top brace on it.

It looks like the trim/brace was removed to fit that background in. Maybe they have the trim but its not in the pic.

Or it wasnt filled all the way. I wouldnt

It looks like it had the plastic trim at some point and also looks like it was resealed. If I had to guess the trim was removed to install the background and either got lost or broken. If you are really interested, you should be able to purchase and install a new frame.

Looks like a 55 footprint too. Shouldnt be hard to find

Unless its all glass brand. They make 80 extra high. But still wouldnt fill with water
