Quick update on my little Alligator gar

Thought id do a quick update on my baby gater gar. Got him on the 12-01-10 at a tiny 3" today I measured him at about 6 1/2" Great growth for him. I'm moving him from the 10gal to the 100 as I write this. Hes still eating live foods and I prob wont take him off them till hes a good 10" so like 2 more weeks. lol

I got it from aquascapeonline I to was surprised I had been looking for one for about 6 months and when this little guy came up I couldn't say no!

Hmm, I'm going to have to check them out; I had asked my local LFS out at college to order in two for me, but they have yet to contact me to say that they got them. :irked:
 
When I was getting this guy they asked me If I would like a 10" one instead. I declined sense I kinda like growing them out myself. Ive had alot of success minimizing aggression towards other and smaller fish when I grow them out myself from a small size. Plus I didnt have tank space for a 10" at the time sense im just now finishing up my 12x6x3.

I might just have to get the 10" one if they still have it; I plan on putting it in my pond come spring.
 
Wow thats really cool! Nice progress on him i can tell he's healthy lol. I heard they get HUGE were are you going to house him when he gets bigger?
