Quickcrete playsand

I have Quickcrete playsand that you can buy from Lowes as a substrate for my P. reticulata. I know that it does not have any silica in it. I was wonder if anybody knows if it has anyting else in it that is harmful for rays cause I don't want to jeperdize the health of my ray at all. Or if anybody uses it themselves. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used target playsand!! Make sure it's children safe with no silica you will be good! !!

thats what i use in my 120 and my motoro loves it. it is really rough on filters tough because it is such a fine sand and billows up really easily

I have Black sand in mine...had play sand.....just like AR2359 said...very fine sand and will clog ur filter up......Make sure u keep the pick up tube a couple inches off the bottom to try to get a little sand in it.....

we use the black sand also, it looks great, not as harsh on filters, i swithched though from a couple of canisters to a wet dry. works great. so far....anyway. just keep in mind to do filter mantaince more often than you have. let me know how it goes. we get that beach play sand here for 35 dollars a ton. we had 2 or 3 truck loads of it in the back yard for the kids last summer. very fine soft stuff.

I have only had the ray for about week and she is doing fine. Her belly is normal and she seems to like the sand. I doe have the filters elevated from the sand and also know how to take care of the sand if it gets in the filters cause I have used it in cichlid tanks for six years. I just didn't know if it was ray safe but I guess it is.
