Quicrete play sand. SAFE FOR RAYS?

title says it all. if it isnt does anybody know what sand is safe(ie brand)?

not the quicreat but the play sand really really washed good is safe the one that says on the back contains no silica..... think about the rays as being your children if the back said contains silica would you want them to play in it i wouldnt i am i construction site safety director as well as many other things in construction and i cant get away from it but i make sure i wear the proper safety materials to handle it but a ray would just die if it came into contact with it so if the label says playsand and it also contains 0% of silica then yes it is safe!

Playsand often contains pesticides and anti-fungal agents. I would go with pool filter sand, very cheap and nice looking. Many people here along with myself use it here for their rays with zero problems.

most pool filter sand is pretty standard, specific brands usually make no difference...

At any pool supply store. Runs about $12 for a 50lb. bag here....

i use the quickrete play sand i dont have rays but i do like this sand alot it holds very nicely and falls right down after u stir it up i definitlly recommend it

Pool filter sand is cheap and clean, so thats what I would use. play sand is apparently way too messy. I got 100 pounds for about $16 from Leslie's pool supply, which is a chain. A pool supply store shouldn't be hard to find, unless you live somewhere really cold (hence no pools)

you can get 50lb bags of play sand thats awesome from Home Depot for $2.50 a bag and its great after you rinse it
