"QUIET" 1000+ gph external pump

I'm finally going to setup my 125 and nu-clear filter setup and need a good pump. The filters have 1" in/outlets and would like a pump with the same.

Pump should be external and somewhere between 1000 - 1500 gph... and be good for atleast 10" head height

It is going to be in the bedroom though, so it needs to be quiet. (I will add sound deadening and foam to the inside of the cabinet also)

I hear great things about Iwaki, but some people say they are loud.
Also Panworld seems to be popular and pretty quiet.

FYI, I have not heard good things about the 9000 series or higher.
 
Pharaoh - I'm guessing you were talking about the "quiet one" pumps?? or something else... Definitely looking for an external pump though.
 
I haven't really heard anything about the little giant pumps...

Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they last like an iwaki or other pumps? Loud??
 
they are great pumps. just NEVER let them run dry and make sure to keep it oiled. I just burned one up a while back and took it apart (hehehe) very well built pump. I probably could have fixed it but I destroyed the casing in the process.
 
well it is a closed loop system i'd be putting it in so there is no worry about running the pump dry... Are the little giant pumps quiet?
