do any exist? i just got a tetra whisper 100, and the thing does anything but whisper, its loud as S*$!.. can anyone point me in the direction of one thats actually quiet?
Quiet air pumps?

The whisper 100s have always been very quiet for me.If you want to spend a few more bucks try the coralife luft pump.Never had one but I hear they are excellent.
I bought two Whisper air pumps a couple of months ago. They started out semi quiet but it didn't last. I've unhooked both of them and plan on reinstalling them in the trash can. I've never had luck with a Tetra product so I can't say that I'm suprised.
Ive put it on towels and t-shirts and anything else laying around the floor when it pisses me off trieng to sleep. Its not the vibrations from it against the cabinet, its the actual noise of the thing running.. I do have to give them credit on thier little rubber feet. They must work as there's no difference in noise between it sitting on wood, or a towel.
Air Pod FTW. It's the only Penn-Plax item I've personally used that I like. the big blue ones suck, but the white ones are really quiet.
