Right now i have sand that i got from a hardware store, Lane Mt. #30

My turtle seems to have some slighlty pink area's on here skin, i was thinking maybe the sand is too abbrasive.
I was thinking about getting some quikrete pool filter sand http://www.quikrete.com/PDFs/DATA_SHEET-Sand-PoolFilter.pdf
I think this might be a little more less abbrasive but my local place would have to order it and i would rather not have to pay before i find out. Any experinces out there?
