Someone told me to but quilt batting to put in my filtration to help make the water a bit more clear. Has anyone ever done this? I have a Hob filter with a plastic slide with holes, carbon slide, and a sponge. Idk where to put the quilt battinf

Which filter and model? Some are more difficult to add media depending on the space available.

Im not sure its a 60gal aqueon with a 50-75gal hob filter. It has 2 carbon slides and 2 blue plastic slides. And i have a sponge behind one

Is that a Tetra brand filter? The name should be written somewhere on the filter lid or cartridge.

Not sure there is any room to fit quilt batting with what you have now due to the design of the cartridges.

From the picture it looks like you've got quilt batting or something very similar on the right side there?

Yes, polyester batting can be used. You can remove the filter cartridge from one side and stuff a wad in instead.

Yeah, it's basically the same as the filter wool you can buy at a pet shop.
I'm not convinced filter wool beats something like a fine sponge or a filter sock. But it's cheap and you can just cut off a slab and jam it in somewhere convenient.
