So whos done it and how.

Been 3 days since i had a smoke. Not gonna lie and say i feel great....infact i feel like crap and want one bad. The other day i baught a pack and had a few smokes. Then felt like a weak little punk since the night before my son asked when i would quit so i threw the pack out. Been puffing on a nicotrol inhaler that my dr gave me a while ago. Seems to be helping

get a good vaporizer and get 24 nicotine juice. that and a disgusting amount of orbit spearmint gum is how I quit chewing lol.

I tried those vapo things last summer. Honestly think they are worse than ciggs.

Totally agree on the spearment gum, traded in the ciggs for a gum addiction.

How long as it been for you ?

I have for the most part quit; my smoking is honestly just a social thing. I smoke maybe 1-2 cigs per month now. When I smoked more often, highest "addiction" to it was about 5-6 per day...I decided to "quit" due to focusing on better health. Was a bit rough even with my low level of usage; avoid the triggers that make you want to smoke. For me that was drinking a few beers with friends; as a result I also cut back on drinking. Invest in distraction....gum and suckers work for a lot of people. Also for many a vape works well as a step down...admittedly I will use a vape without nicotine periodically through the week. You can step down the amount of nicotine you use until you are using none and then maybe decide to ditch it.

Also just stop buying cigs; if you dont buy them you cant smoke them. This may also mean avoiding sections of stores or going inside gas stations.

I smoked a pack and a half a day. I used the nicotrol inhaler and just kept cutting that down over about a month. Been almost ten years now. Will be running a half marathon on May 1st, which happens to be exactly the same day I quit smoking ten years ago. Definitely a hard habit to break, but well worth it!

I smoked when living in Tennessee, and have recently moved to washington (pack o smokes is over 10$) so I new I had to quit. I had my last cig around thanksgiving. It's not an easy thing, but it does get easier. I would say about two weeks was absolutely miserable. All I could think about was smoking a cigarette. Then overtime I stopped thinking about it as much. I did the cold turkey thing. I had the nicotine gum and it burned my mouth so I didn't use but maybe three or four pieces. It's ok if you "relapse" and smoke a cigarette, most people do. But your body is becoming less dependent on the nicotine and other chemicals in cigarettes, so you're still on your way to smoke free.
Good luck. But remember the first two weeks are the worst, then it gets easier.

well let me put it this way....i'm on my 12th 6 month stretch haha. The army usually drives me back to it for a week or so then I quit again lol...BUT I used to dip a can and a half a day, now its a can every like 6 months. You'll get there man, your kid needs to be your driving force though, you want to be around and healthy for all the stuff they are going to have going on in the future.

My dad just got diagnosed with lung cancer after smoking for roughly 40 years. That put things in perspective for himself and me.

going on 2 years for me an the mrs., I used vaping as an intermediate though which made the process alot easier honestly.
