It's with great sadness, and a heavy heart I write this. My pink tailed chalceus, Charlie passed today. He was a skinny little 4" when I got him in June 2015 so he was quite an old boy when he died. He went straight into a 180g com tank when I got him and my then very small RTGG nearly killed him in the first couple of days. I took him out of that tank and nursed him back to good health so you could say he was lucky to live the life he did.

Although chalceus are one of my favourite fish, out of respect for my little guy, I won't be getting another one. I will bury him in the garden tomorrow.

R.I.P little guy.

He was just over 10" and about as thick as my wrist, quite a chunk for a chalceus.
That is huge. I have a really nice 5-6" one now.....it used to be my most visible fish until i accidentally picked up a Brycon that is now chasing it around like crazy despite being smaller. So far no bad damage but I am worried. I love my little dude!!
