i want to put an R.O. with automatic top off on my 180 g freshwater tank. a couple of plants and lots of fish. any advice

R.O. has its benefits and disadvantages. What type of fish do you have? Also, you plan wouldn't work because you need to add minerals back to the treated water.
I've used the rejected water from my ro di. Its on a drip system doing 125% wc daily. I have the three of most difficult to keep animals to keep in terms of water quality. Haven't noticed any noticeable negative effects.
