The VILLE
Hello im new to flower horns ive always kept ca/sa cichlids. So here is some pics of some red texas that i picked up from eddie martin at bluegrass aquatics. They are not looking very red but rather blue if you ask me hopefully i didnt get ripped off. So what do yall think are they just too young to tell yet. the web site says they are a mix of amphilophus and herichthys (and yes that is a ebjd that likes the camera). also there is a baby labridens at the top left of one pic

has ne body had red texas fry that can help ive heard of peeling and fading but im not so sure what they mean by that

From the pictures they look rather bland, But that doesnt say much if they havent faded yet. I think its still too early to tell if you got ripped off or not.

But what I can tell you for sure, If you paid a "good price" for a Red Texas and you received a random Tex X Amphilophus fry then I would say you got ripped off. Because there is no telling if they will actually fade or not. Tex X BP or RD create maybee 3 half decent quality RT. Few will fade to an orangey color, and 90% of the rest are black cherry in color and keep the blue pearls.

Im not familiar with BlueGrass, So I dont know how they conduct business. It will not look like the picture Bluegrass provides, Not for $25. Considering most of their photos have been taken from Google and other fish look like they have ammonia burn... Doesnt really seem like the most respectable supplier.
*Also I like how they say "BUYING 5 OR MORE WILL ENSURE YOU GET AN OUTSTANDING ANIMAL." If your paying for shipping you can find a much better source.

thanks for the info i acually got them for 15 a piece cuz i bought 5 one of them came in with a balloon body im really curious how he matures ill try to keep every one posted. i have bought from them before and had excelent luck but that is before eddie merged with a fish farm in florida that has two breeders.
