i read somewhere that rabbit pellets are very good for vegetarian pl*cos and other herbivorous fish. besides being readily available, it is also very cheap. what are the nutritional values of RP and other advantages of using it? how good is rabbit food? i want to hear your opinion/testimonials on this matter, pros and cons. TIA.

I would not use them. They will fall apart very quickly, and cloud your tank. They are not very nutritional for fish, and in fact are not even nutritional enough for guinea pigs. If you want cheap food use veggies, and shrimp.

I agree i used them for a bit they do break apart fast and make a mess..
I can see them working on a industrial size system but with average house aquariums no good.

yes you guys are right, fresh veggies are way better for pl*cos. i tried the rabbit pellets and sure enough, the bits crumbled after a few minutes and i had to do a major water change lol. funny tho, the giant gourami and silver dollars liked it.

Yeah I've heard all of the above as well, as a matter of fact, I believe one of the posts I read it on was one of oddball's saying he used them for feeding something? I could be wrong, but I think thats what I remembered...

A lot of rabbit pellets in the US apparently contain hormones too.
