im building a pond this weekend. very shallow. it will be two cinderblocks high. using pvc liner and building 2x4 frame around the blocks.

housing fancy goldfish, any recommendations on raccoon-proofing this bad boy? i live in an area with canyons and raccoons. oh yah, needs to be cat proof too. fancies are so slow i'm worried they'll get caught.

perhaps make the wall higher and have water lower? as well as a chicken wire cover? not very asthetically pleasing.

thank you in advance for the ideas!

vil.

They have these electric fences that gives them a static electric type zap. They work very well and are nearly invisible. One kit is called "fido shock" you might be able to find it at your home depot type store. About $60 msrp.

raccoons wont go in water where they cant touch the bottom. Chicken wire with support so when they go in top it wont cave in is almost a must.

Raccoon traps? When we had a bunch of raccoons in our yard, we got a trap from the division of wildlife. We caught one a night, and they transported them far away for us.

those motion sensor sprinklers work great...
