I have a cloudy eye issue, which doesn’t seem to get better.
Doing 50% water changes every 2 days and adding salt
Parameters: Ph-6.5, Ammonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate-20PPM
It has been over a week now, there ever 2 huge Oscars in my tank which have been rehoused. There are bottom silver dollars that don’t get in his way.
He eats a few super worms, but he cannot see properly because of the cloudy eyes and gets weirded out by what’s floating around.
Reading different threads and doing research, I did not panic and tried the water change with salt technique, but I don’t see any improvement, it’s certainly stopped spreading but it’s the same it’s not going away!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Tank size? What decorations and what other occupants?
Just trying to get my head round why ph 6.5 also, is that your tap ph ?

what water do you use for the changes? Just looking at the photos and see tower block, just wondering on quality? And readings.

also, how long he had it? The post seems to suggest a while, no others affected?

128 Gallon Tank
Only 5 silver dollars and 2 widebars
Ph is 6.5 because I use Seachem Arowana buffer
I use tap water, Ph on tap water is 7.5, nitrates are 5 PPM
He has had it for a week now that’s why I’m posting as I have tried to cure it with doing water changes every 2 days. 50%
Temp is 30 degrees Celsius.
Tank is bare bottom, no decorations and I’m using a sump for filtration all the debris and dirt has been cleaned, no detritus in the sump.
All the other fish are active and eating, he is fine too eating as well, just can’t see his food properly so doesn’t charge the super worms.

Water is dechlorinated with API stress coat +
Salt added to tank 1 tablespoon per 5 liters of water as suggested on multiple threads and forums.
Water at the moment is really good, have the API test kit I check it everyday to see if there are any fluctuations. Today’s reading
Ph-6.5
Ammonia-0
Nitrites-0
Nitrates-20PPM
I have ordered Ocean Free Arowana Anti-Cloudy Eye treatment capsules, they have been suggested to be really good from what is have read. But the delivery is expected after 10 days. I’m just stuck the salt is not helping and I have to wait for 10 days to start that treatment as it’s not readily available in the country I live in. Can anyone tell me what I can do to make things better or something I’m doing wrong?

You did everything right.
Salt 1kg/1000 liter
Temp 30-31°C
Change water every 2nd day around 30-50% is fine (redose salt!!)
USAGE of medical treatment against bacterial infections
Cloudy eyes should be better within 1 week (speaking out of experience and not hear say)

WATER QUALITY IS CRITICALAT THIS STAGE!

Good luck.
