Ragged fins wont heal!

Man my arowana has ragged fins that wont get better. Ive tried melafix. I followed the treatment and did water change and no improvement. Added salt and did more water changes. Still no improvement. Is it a case where the fins are just scared that way or should I try another treatment. Its such a beautiful fish. Always hungry. Swims always, very active and constantly skims the surface for food. But the radgged fin deal takes away from its natural beauty. Help please.

Your case does not require any drastic measures. Just do daily water changes and add Melafix to help the fins recover quickly. The fins should still fix themselves. What are your water parameters? How long has it been this way?

I bought him like that. Ive had him for like 4 months now. The store owner said it got nipped up by another fish but that it would heal. By water parameters do you mean ph balance, temp, ect ? Thanks my dude, appreciate the help.
