Raid uncovers exotic fish species


A shipment of live
endangered fish has been uncovered during a raid at a property in east London.
Officers found 11 Arowana fish which are thought to be worth up to £2,000 each and are highly sought after by exotic fish collectors.

The raid took place at the address after a tip-off about an air shipment that had arrived from Singapore.

Police said the fish seized were about 18in (46cm) long but could grow much bigger. One man has been arrested.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Wildlife Crime Unit carried out the raid as part of Operation Charm which targets the trade in endangered species.

they might as well not bother, i have seen probably 5-6 asian aro's posted here from members in Ca. pisses me off. laws are made for reasons and people should respect them, there's a few members here that could be arrested for the same thing..christ have mercy

for those who have been around awhile know better....Anthony(was one of our best guys for bringing in rare cichla ect) got nabbed just last year for selling and also I know of several guys here in the US that have gotten nailed through forums. Ignorant of the fact that even though they dont put their location on the board USF&G has access to all their personal information through the server including location,IP,email ect ect... Those who dont know are just asking for it IMO.

Yup. When you have illegal animals just to look cool online you deserve it.

If I had anything illegal like Gar, Red Arow or w/e id keep it for myself and not tell a single person.

Yeah... its posted in the aro thread, don't worry bout it. Yes they are legal here, but they are still a CITES animal so if they don't have chips in and don't come with the correct paperwork, then they are seized, if it is found they are not chipped then they are being illegally imported and someones in trouble.
