THe past four days, my parents have been installing a new pond and stream connecting to the old one. Well, we haven't yet completed it, the tarp was secure everywhere except where we installed a new waterfall.

Out of nowhere, it started raining like crazy, and didn't stop, and the pond overflowed, whcih would have been okay, because the fish wouldn't have washes out seeing as we kept slits midway up the surrounding rock so only water would overflow. But, of course, water rushed in under the tarp where the waterfall wasn't yet secured, and we had to do a 1am fish rescue...

Ugh, a waste of work =/

Wow, tough break. It is monsoon season here (Orlando) so we get that every day.

Yeah, it undid 4 days of straight labor, and it was looking so nice, now it all needs to be pulled out and redone

as of now, we losta young shebunkin, but all the large ones are in tanks for now, we may put them in the smaller pond temporarily, just so they don't stress too much. Haha, my brother even made sure to grab the giant pond snail, which would have been fine, we're still missing the tadpole, sure he'll be okay though, and we'll find him when we pull everything up.
Ugh, long night

Sorry to hear that you have to redo it all. That's never fun.

Only one tadpole, huh? During the rainy season, frogs go nuts breeding. I get new eggs daily and have tadpoles in almost every container outside (including the swimming pool). I had a filter lid laying upside down last night. It rained and this morning there were frog eggs in it.

yeah, we usually get one, because some come in from the woods out back anyways, and they usually call them to the pond when they grow lol. we had a bunch in our pond last year, it was so funny to see all of them hoping around the garden, but annoying mating calls ugh haha
