While Europe and other parts of the world have been getting pummeled with record rainfall, we’ve been having a record drought. And record forest fires. Until Thursday.
While I’ve been maundering on about my car and my new welding helmet, I forgot the most important business which is the rain!
Clearly the days of ritual washing and waxing my truck are over. The only way to get it to rain now is to buy thousands of dollars worth of new equipment and set up to work outdoors.
All joshing aside, we got over an inch of desperately needed rain, and I am no longer smelling the redwoods on fire.

I don’t know how the rest of California fares, but I suspect many of the fires are down now.
