So, I believe my rainbows are a pair, there is a lot of shaking and dancing that the dominant male does around the suspected female, a bit of chasing and lip locking as well that they both get into.

I'm trying to figure out what they would spawn on, like what kind of surface though. Would they spawn on plant leafs or should I throw in a piece of slate or something for them to lay eggs on if they where to so choose? Some of the plants I'm keeping are crypts the size of large swords, so if they would lay on a leaf then I'm fine with letting them just do that.

Also, I guess while on the topic, Angels will lay eggs on big leafs right? I'm pretty sure they will but just checking.

For the rainbows, a piece of slate or a clay flower pot laying on its side would be a good place for them to lay eggs.

Angels will pick a piece of almost completely upright slate 9 times out of 10. But they do lay on large, broad leaves sometimes.

Rainbows will lay eggs everywhere. Mine have done it on lava rock, the heater, etc. For angels, a piece of slate is the way to go.
