My female rainbow recently lost her mate, I am going to move her into a 40 gallon tank with zebra danios, a few Buenos Aires tetras and a small male pink convict. Now I've kept both cichlids in the past together with no issues. But do I run the risk of them pairing up and breeding? I googled and found nothing on any cichlid crossing with rainbows. I assume I will be okay. The female is also bigger if that helps. Thanks

I think you will be ok for the not breeding but keep eye out for some bickering for dominance.
