Rainbow cichlid

so i have a pair in my tank...they havent doen much in a while and tend to hide out in the bushes....i have 2 questions...
1} what colour should they be? mine have always been black and gold.
2} does the feamle dance to court the male, or does he dance for her?

my smaller reainbow keeps danceing infront of the larger one who shows no intrest.

I have 2 pairs, they used to have a simple and non shining yellow color ( except in the breeding time that became gold ) but now they are in a nice orange to red color because of the diet.
darkening up usually occures when they are stressed out, or maybe yours are still settling down in the tank.

and about my pairs, the males always dance around the females.

is it possible to post a pic of your male and female. i would like to see what they look like so i can identify them in the shop?

males are a bit bigger and have a bit more intense colors. females have a rounder body ( bigger belly )

in the pics, yellow one is female laying eggs, its before she gets orange. in crowded pic bigger one is male 2 others female. and the one who is yawning is same male.
