Rainbow cichlid?

Got these 4 guys today for just 25cents each... And they are no more than 2 inches. LFS tald that this was yellow cichlid, But i think it's rainbow cichlid. What u guys think?

Lol 'yellow cichlid', most generic description of a cichlid ever. I dun know too much about the Archocentrus species, but yeah looks like a rainbow.

Yeah, that's the first fish that sprung to mind as well when I saw 'yellow cichlid', though we usually refer to them as 'electric yellows' or 'yellow labs' here in the Aussielands.

Hmm i saw only once they are on here as yellow cichlid

Rainbows. They are the most innocent c.american cichlids i've ever had. Mine are about 3and half inches and i've read that's the maximum size that they can reach.

3.5 only? i think they can reach 5 inches in aquaria... Yup peaceful like goldfish, but very hardy...

Do you know how to sex them? I wish they would grow for 5 inches because mine have very beautiful natural colours on their body already. When it aches the eyes of watching vibrant red, blue colours of cichlids like flowerhorns, looking at the colours of rainbow cichlids is a huge ease to our minds.
