I started a thread in the plant section reguarding semi-aquatic plants for my concept.

well like mentioned there i plan on getting a rainbowcrab since my LFS has some and after lot of recent reading i think that my original idea of keeping crafish and newts with them is a very bad idea???, and keeping more then one in a confined space is also a bad idea...

If i can find something that is around 24"-15"-6"tall in a irregular shape i will use that but if not i will make one out of acrilic VIA heat fourming some 1/4-3/8" acrillic over a wood mould....

well i would like to know if anyone has had any extended sucess with them and how, what kind of storries can you tell me, will my idea flow and can i keep them with crawfish and newts without tyhem being dinner?, well i would like to keep a blue crawfish with it.... and they arnt cheap.

However, throwing in a few standard red ones is ok with me if they will be dinner, i usaly get a few for my cichlids at around $1 each so not a big loss...

i think these little guys are cool and if i can find/make a island shaped tank to keep one in on my coffe table that would be cool..., with climbing rocks and some plants.... like a zenn garden with a little buddy...

haven't kept them, but I don't think they will mix with newts or really anything else much. Aren't they mainly land crabs anyway?

well i hope they play nice, when younger they need to be in or near water to keep there lungs wet and to help with molting, if they start to molt outside of water then they cant get there legs free and need to rip them off... but as they get older like 2-3 years old they dont molt as much, and spen more time on lank, but they still need atleast 2-3" of water to keep there lungs wet.

i would like to keep one with a few firebellied newts but i dont want to find 10 pieces of newts one day...
