Depends on what your comparing them to say a neon tetra then there pretty monster lol. There good looking fish though whats they grow up a bit.

I have several bosemanis, asutrailians, and a wanam river. What kind do you have? If its an asutrailian, don't expect too much. They only seem to show colors when in breeding mode.

Probably THE dumbest fish I've ever encountered. Dealt with a half dozen species at my old job, probably the only fish I could completely break down a tank or catch a bunch, and 30 seconds later they completely forget.

I have 6 Boesemani Rainbows in a 40 breeder, they are interesting to watch, there'salways at least one pair trying to spawn, they never stop moving (they seem to like a constant current to swim against). Feedig time they are like a pack of sharks attacking a wounded fish (no matter what I'm feeding them). I crush snails with a big pair of tweezers and they'll try and grab them before I even open the tweezers, sometimes even jumping out to try and grab the snail before I put the tweezers in the water. Colours change throughout the day getting lighter as the day progresses.
Like MyGiants said, you need a few for them to show the best colour and even with just one it'll take a couple of days for the colour to come back after they've been in a fish store.
I'll try and grab some pics tonight when I get home from work.

Some pics of my Boesemani Rainbows.

These all came from Petsmart (at different times) and none looked anything like this when I bought them - light yellow tint to their tails and a very slight blueish tinge at the top of the front half. It's definitely worth feeding a variety of good foods to see the difference.
