They have a small (6 inch) rainbow snakehead for sale it is the only one I have ever seen there I was gonna get it and change some fish around to accomodate it but it was 80$$ :WHOA::WHOA: Is that a good price or am i gettin ripped off

Thanks

Did you see them at the Regina Petland?

They have a pair (used to be a trio) of rainbows around that price. That is the first I've seen of them in Sask in a long while , but their fish manager is really quite good about ordering in specialty fish. When I upgrade tanks I'm going to ask him to order me in a few Channa aurantimaculata.

you gotta be killing me...
80 dollars...
i can get them here at about 5 dollars.
so in the US theyre probably a little more.

Yes that is where I go most of the time and yes they always have some kind of specialty fish in but there a little pricy and have you noticed that all the bichirs around here are crazily priced!!

I am in canada but yea just a little more

They do tend to be a bit pricey, and without many jurassic fish people in the area, their poly's weren't moving.

I picked up some really good deals from them on a lapradei and a poor beat up one eyed delhezi, just because no one else wanted them, and the fish manager wanted them to live.

I agree, those rainbows are pricey rt now, but may come down. Stay patient and if they don't sell in a few weeks, make him a low offer. I like the store and am not trying to undercut them or anything, but they are often overpriced on the oddballs. Their fish manager Greg would rather sell the fish to a dedicated hobbyist than let it slowly waste away in their tanks. Good fella with a great knowledge of plants as well.

If you want to discuss further PM me....and post pics if you end up getting them!

Ya I remember seeing that lapradei there was eyeing it

He's in good shape now, fat and growing! My kids named him Crocky and have staring contests with him.

Noticed our LFS now has started carrying Polypterus (only senegalus mind you) so I'm hopeful they'll continue getting in more specialized species. I'll ask the owner what she'd charge for a rainbow SH and post / PM you the reply so you can compare with those in Regina.

Ok sounds good I noticed that about a month ago they had a couple of Delhezi's in with the clown loaches but they were 60$ I think so I passed

I went to see if the price was lowered or anything but it was bought. Wonder ehat they'll bring in next

They had a del in with some puffers :screwy: and of course they chewed off his fins. They moved him to another tank, but he wasn't eating for about a month, so regrowth was slow. I eventually felt sorry for him and took him home for $15.

He's now on beefheart, has his fins back and is getting fat!

Haven't been back to the LFS re: rainbows yet, but will post here if I get an answer.
