Rainbow sharks seem to do fine with most botia loaches but will the similar color patterns of the blue botia loach trigger agression in the rainbow shark?anyone kept these two species together?

I kept the two together until the botia got too large for the tank (they get BIG). Didn't really like the botia so gave them away. The rainbow sharks on the other hand are nice but a little too aggressive for a community tank.

Oh ok good to know. from my research I hear they are they grow only slightly smaller than the clown loach at about 10-11 inches i have my rainbow shark in a 55 gallon community tank but I keep relatively large fast or tough fish with him, like giant danios and raphael catfish.but He's really quite docile for a rainbow shark .lol

btw, went ahead and got the blue botias. they bicker with eachother a lot but dont cause any trouble really. my rainbow (as predicted) hasnt taken kindly to them but they wont take his crap and hes backed off a bit. haha
I have two red tail sharks who get along with each other very well and with loaches. They are suppose to chase the fish that look more like them. It depends on the particular shark. Both red tail and rainbow shark will do fine in a community tank.
I had hem together before but keep a lot of hiding caves. It could be two peices of wood or slate stacked on top of each other, this will help if they have a territory to claim of their own.
