Rainbow Shark with Tangys

I'm interested in converting my freshwater community tank into a Tangayika cichlid tank. All of my fish are for sale aside from a rainbow shark that has a lot of sentimental value for my wife and I (it's moved around with us and is 3 years old). Can I mix him with Tangayika cichlids in a high pH (9-9.4) if I acclimate him well? Or do I need to get him his own tank?

I'm growing out 13 f1 mpimbwes right now and six f1 kipilis as well I love fronts lol also have 3 burundis I've had for ever a 10yr old a 5 yr old and a three yr old. I'm currently trying to get some boulengerochromis microlepis right now . I love tanganykans my self.

I ended up doing a Malawi setup to try to accommodate the rainbow shark. I have the pH around 8.2 and everyone is doing very well
