Rainbow Snakehead identifcation

Hi I got a rainbow snakehead yesterday and I have been watching him/her a lot and have been wondering if he is actually rainbow snakehead as he has no colour and looks more like a gachua.He is about 4 inches.Here are some pics:

Hi I think you might be right as he does not have the spots on his tail fin like bleheri don’t assams only grow to 10cm

Im not 100% certain on size, but i think they reach around 15 or 20cm? Similar to bleberi...

Over here in Asia where i live, a lot of the time Blue Assam get mixed with Bleheri in tanks... not sure if its on purpose or just way they get them from their suppliers...

So might explain why you may have ended up with one...

Yeah I am annoyed at my self for not spotting it at the shop but I don’t plan on taking him back but I also hope he does grow to a similar size to the rainbows

A friend of mine used to have some he acquired in the same way as you... he did a little bit of research and said they are quite similar, just that their colors / pattern is different...

Either way, i would still wait for someone with more knowledge in snakeheads to confirm first before doing too much research coz i could be wrong about which type it is...
