I am adding to this existing Rainbow Snakehead thread (C. bleheri) if I may.
I have started keeping a few of these fish and I notice some have a distinct black dorsal spot near the caudal (tail) and some do not. Does this change with age? All are feeding well on Hikari carnivore pellets and are quite active and outgoing once they settle in. I have them in with some black spot barbs which they like chasing but the bold nature of the barbs seem to bring the rainbows out. There seems to be conflicting information about hard or soft water, low or high temperature, bright light or dark light etc. Currently they are in a medium planted tank with lots of floating cover and a few flowerpot caves. I would appreciate any other advice and comments from people who have kept them before.
