Hey guys. While I am waiting on my reseal job on my 125 to finish curing, I have been prepping everything for the switch. In the craziness, I had one Blue Kamaka rainbowfish jumped for a TINY hole in the plastic piece of my glass lid surround my hob. The next night, I was stressing hardcore about some details of the switch and forget to shut the top to my 75. Behold, another jumper. I went from 6 Kamakas to 4 in two days, which absolutely sucked, especially because of my stupid mistake. My question lies within here. I have left my top open more times than id like to admir, and NEVER had a jumper (I keep Denison Barbs too). All of a sudden, as soon as one jumped, so did the other. Now, the 4 remaining sit in one corner ALL DAY and dont really swim. They just kind of swim in place. The only time they move is when my severum swims by them. I am wondering if maybe my sev was the issue here. She actually ate 10 schoolers of mine awhile back (bad mistake by me) and has shown a bit of territorial aggression. The extent of this is just swimming bard and fast at a fish and trying to intimidate it. She does this to the denisons from time to time, but they could care less. Theyre are crusing around the tank as we speak. Oh, and my Kamakas arent eating readily anymore. I really dont want to rehome them as they cost me $15 a piece, and the 125 should be up and running by this weekend. Whats causing this?

Edit: Heres a pic of what they are doing. They swam around the whole tank happily before the death of the two others. No stresses at all

Sorry for the bad luck. The Rainbows evidently are insecure due to the sudden reduction in their numbers. Replacing the deceased with two new Rainbows might solve the problem.

I was thinking that this might be the case. Unfortunately they arent super common. I checked my lfs today but they didnt have them. Ill have to wait till they get them in :(

U could try to add similar schooling species (such as other rainbows)

I've kept rainbows for a long time. They don't really school that tight unless threatened. The usual behavior would be chasing each other, flaring and begging for food.
