Can these 2 live together? The rainbows would be roughly 2.5" while the angels would start off much larger. Maybe a pair of each in a 55? I know tetras and Cory's work with angels but would the rainbows fit in?

Rainbows like Bosemani or Rainbow Cichlid ?

I may try it, depends if the rainbows are still available when I move the polleni I'm growing out in the tank. If there are problems I can move the rainbows to a smaller tank of their own.

In my 29 gallon community I have a ~4" male Rainbow Cichlid, a ~3" female Rainbow Cichlid, a ~3" Gold Angel, and a ~2.5" Silver/Black Angel (no clue on the sex of the Angels). The male Rainbow chases the female Rainbow and sometimes the Gold Angel, but has never done any damage. I think you might get the best results with Angels that are not a similar color to the Rainbow Cichlids.

I would say the aggression your seeing is because the tank is a bit too small for all those fish. You would have much better luck in a larger tank

I should have mentioned the frequency of the chasing, which is very seldom. There are lots of plants and wood and hiding places as well as a group of 16 Harlequin Rasboras which have been working great as dithers.

The Angels are grow outs for a friend's tank and one or both are moving along soon. If I see any signs of damage they're leaving as quickly as I can get them to my friend.

In a 55 I suspect a male Rainbow would still do some chasing.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try it. I haven't seen too much about rainbows, so they got my interest. Im also pretty set on angels, since I've never kept them. I also considered electric blue acaras and angels. Here's their future tank, I already have above 10 corys that will stay. The danios, filament barbs and polleni will be moving.
