I want to raise the tank temp to 88 - 90 degrees F. How can I trick out heaters or use in combination to achieve and hold these temps in a michigan winter environment.

Never mind the why, JK, this is part of my Ich cure that has worked on the past but now I can't seem to get a heater to go above 84, which is probably the max output of most heaters. I have gotten some heaters to get me into the 90's but only on the 10 gal scale.

I'm not looking for an ich cure I'm looking for staight answers.

Thanks

the only thing I can think of is if one heater gets you to 84 why not just use two heaters and monitor the temp in the tank with both heaters running.

i have my temp at 87 and i could crank it higher if i wanted to and its just 1 heater on a 125gal its a shatter proof i think marine land heater or penplax im at work right now so i cant tell u exactly but hey like i said my temp is at 87 and holding there pretty steadly

I think I've tried that, maybe with cheap heaters though I've got a Jager in a 125gal I think 250watt, with a supposed temp range up to 91 deg. I have another heater I could throw in but I would have to shuffel some other heaters around.

I think some heaters have a thermal kill switch to shut it off once it hit a certain temp. worth a try though thanks. Sweet avatar btw

This may be a stupid question, but are you going to have the fish in there? My heater malfunctioned yesterday in my 30 gallon and brought the tank up to 90. My honey gourami died, and the water hadn't even been that hot for an hour.
